The Fernandine walls are a part of History that embraces the city of Porto, located in the north of Portugal.These medieval fortifications topped off by battlements were completed during the reign of King D. Fernando and their remains are part of the extraordinary beautiful scenery of the D. Luís bridge with colourful houses that paint the banks of the Douro River.

Inspired by these old fortifications of Porto, the FERNANDINE 2 seat sofa from InsidherLand is seen from the outside perspective as a high wall that surrounds the seat. Three brass pieces stand out as cutouts that reenacts the battlements, as details that outline the structure, being also visible in the interior of the piece.

Fernandine’s perimeter is like the great wall, noble and brave, strong and safe, but its interior with an elevated seat and a loose cushion, becomes as comfortable and charming as the so typical well-known warm welcoming of the people from Porto.

The NIEMEYER II round sofa is named after the Brazilian Architect Oscar Niemeyer whose Architecture was spread like sculptural poetry in the History of humankind.

The rounded lines of the sofa are influenced by the remarkable ‘Casa das Canoas’ designed by Niemeyer in 1951. The flat roof offers its flowing forms to the round seat. The backward movement of the curve that frames a large granite boulder is recreated by the location of the seams in a meticulous upholstered work that flows all around the arms of the sofa.

The NIEMEYER II round sofa is statement piece with a sense of comfort to be used as the center of a luxurious creative living space.

The good seating comfort is essentially based on the pleasant upholstery and the casual cushion filling with the special foam QDF - Quick-Dry-Foam®, the highest quality foam currently available in the outdoor area.

A special production process with a drainage function prevents the otherwise usual absorption of water and guarantees the unhindered flow of rain and melted water and ensures good ventilation of the entire piece of furniture.

Mold formation (anti-micro-bacterial) and unpleasant odors do not exist with the CARLO outdoor furniture collection. Even after a heavy summer rain, CARLO furniture is dry again in no time.

Located in the sunny California on the south-west of the United State of America, the charming FIGUEROA Mountain is a magical landscape that inspired to the creation FIGUEROA by INSIDHERLAND. The long curves of this mountain were taken to the sofa’s exterior and the mountainside ripples, that seem to have been dug by large fingers coming from the sky, were placed on the inside.

FIGUEROA sofa has the same lines of the original armchair. The exterior represents the long curves of Figueroa mountain while the mountainside ripples were placed on the inside. The top features the great bow of the skyline and the yellow tone of the ground is replaced by the base in brushed brass.
